Considered one of the most important Brazilian musicians of his generation, Daniel Guedes has been acting as a violinist, violist, chamber musician, teacher and conductor. Carioca, born in 1977, completed his bachelor's and master's degrees at the Manhattan School of Music, where he studied with Pinchas Zukerman and Patinka Kopec. He has been acting as a soloist for the main Brazilian orchestras and in several countries abroad, having performed at Carnegie Hall as a soloist for Max Bruch's Concerto nº 1 in 2000. As conductor, he performed in front of orchestras such as OSB, OSUSP, Campinas Symphonic, Bahia , from UFRJ, Academia Jovem Concertante, among others. As a chamber musician, he recreated, in 2009, with Marcio Malard, the renowned Guanabara Quartet, with the collaboration of young talents from the Rio de Janeiro scene. He has been working with important musicians such as Shmuel Ashkenasi, Alex Klein, Ricardo Castro, Arianna String Quartet among others. He recorded a CD with Beethoven's sonatas with Ilan Rechtman, for the USA's Well-Tempered label, “Impressões Brasileiras” with Flávio Augusto and “Violão e violino” with Mario Ulloa. In 2015 he also launched with Mario Ulloa the CD "Amor em paz", by the Rob Digital label. He has been developing, in partnership with pianist Simone Leitão, the Academia Jovem Concertante, a project that aims to train young Brazilian musicians for the professional market, acting as teacher and conductor. He is a professor at the UFRJ School of Music, and has been teaching at the Campos do Jordão and FEMUSC Festivals (Santa Catarina), among others. He has been promoting master classes of important teachers at the UFRJ School of Music, such as Pinchas Zukerman and Patinka Kopec.
