Marcelo Fagerlande graduated in harpsichord at the Stuttgart School of Music in the class of Kenneth Gilbert (1986), obtained a master’s and doctorate degree in Musicology at Conservatório Brasileiro de Música (1993) and UNIRIO (2002), respectively. He did post-doctoral internships in France and Brazil. He has been a professor at Escola de Música of UFRJ since 1995, where he created Semana do Cravo, as well as the bachelor's and the master's degree in the instrument. He has performed concerts in Brazil and in several countries in Europe, North America and South America. He directed premieres of Baroque operas in several theaters in Brazil. He recorded albums such as Marcelo Fagerlande no Museu Imperial, Bach e Pixinguinha and A Arte da Fuga. He published the books O Método de Pianoforte de José Maurício, O Baixo contínuo no Brasil and O cravo no Rio de Janeiro do século XX. www.marcelofagerlande.com.br
