Pianist and Associate Professor of chamber music at Escola de Música of UFRJ, she is also a Permanent Professor at the UFRJ Graduate Music Programs (PPGM and PROMUS). Doctor in Music from Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (Unirio), with an internship at Université de Paris IV-Sorbonne. She obtained her Master's Degree at Escola de Música of UFRJ, with Specializations at Indiana University where she studied under Menahem Pressler (USA) and at Hochschule für Musik Köln. She carries out a research project in Brazilian music, with published articles and participation as a speaker in national and international academic events. She was one of the organizers of the colloquy Le Piano Brésilien, at Sorbonne and of the Symposia on Performance Practices UFRJ / UFBA. Her albums Paula da Matta interpreta Franz Liszt and Chopin-Triumph in Vienna were very well received by the specialized critic. At the invitation of the same Society, she performed a concert commemorating the 250 years of the Polish composer's death at the traditional Festsaal in Vienna. In 2019, she recorded her third album Compositores da Escola de Música: Séculos XIX e XX, giving launch concerts and lectures as part of the Piano na Sala Series, at Sala Cecília Meireles (RJ) and of the Guest Artists Series, at the Libby Gardner Concert Hall, in Salt Lake City (USA).
