Doctor in Music, Master in Musicology, Mandolin Professor (UFRJ). He has played and recorded with Orquestra de Cordas Brasileiras, Rio Trio and Camerata Brasil (EMI-Classics), having performed in Brazil, Europe and the United States. With the group Paulo Sá Quarteto, he performed in Italy in 2007 and recorded the album Brazilian Things (2nd String Music, 2010). He currently works with guitarist / violeiro Daniel Miranda, Duo Barroqueando. Visiting Professor at the Malmö Academy of Music (Sweden, 2017) and the Milan Conservatory (Italy, 2013). Between October 2005 and February 2006, he gave a series of concerts and lectures on Choro (Berklee College of Music, University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth, Brown University, Cornell University and University of Oregon). Research and extension project: Brazilian Music for Plucked Strings: Production, Research and Performance (Camerata Dedilhada da UFRJ). Other projects include “Naquela Mesa em Tempos Modernos”, a tribute to Jacob do Bandolim (with Fábio Nin - Duo Alcantilado - and guests: Silvério Pontes, Gabriel Grossi, Vitor Gonçalves, Nicolas Krassic and Beto Cazes, Centro Cultural Correios, RJ, 2010); "Afinidades Musicais: Choros e Fados", Centro Cultural Correios, RJ, 2010.
