A pianist with an eclectic background, ranging from classical music to jazz, she has performed with several renowned artists and groups such as Eduardo Dussek and ngela Rorô, and in numerous theater plays and concerts. She has had a duo with Daniela Spielmann for 20 years, having released several albums. Together with José Staneck and cellist Ricardo Santoro, Sheila is part of Harmonitango, a trio dedicated to the works of Astor Piazzolla. She has also worked alongside Marianna Leporace since 1999, having recorded the CD “São Bonitas as Canções” released in 2000 and re-released in 2014 by Mills Records label. She is a member of groups such as Cyclophonica, and the Orquestra Lunar, a group of gafieira composed exclusively of women. The Orquestra recorded its first album in 2007, which was nominated for Prêmio Tim de Música in 2008. She is a professor at Escola de Música of UFRJ, and Doctor in Music at UNICAMP, with her thesis on choro in the 1990s in Rio de Janeiro.
