Doctor in Music at UNIRIO and Master in Baroque Flute and Ancient Music at Utrecht University (Holland), a pianist with prizes at several competitions, Veruschka Mainhard studied with Carol McDavit and Martha Herr in Brazil, Uta Spreckelsen in Germany and Marianne Blok in Holland . She also took classes with Roland Hermann, Mitsuko Shirai, Hilde Zadek and Jeffrey Gall in Germany and with Jorge Chaminé in Paris. She is a Professor of Diction and Voice in the undergraduate program and is part of the teaching staff of PROMUS (Professional Master in Music) at Escola de Música of UFRJ. She is a vocal coach for Coro de Câmara Pro-Arte, of which she has been a member for over 30 years. She has performed in the most important concert halls of Brazil and abroad. She has performed as a soloist in operas, oratories and cantatas in Brazil, Germany, the Netherlands and the United States, as well as in world premieres of works written specifically for her voice.
