VII Journey PROMUS presents in virtual format production of the Program
The VII Journey of the Professional Graduate Program in Music of UFRJ (PROMUS), which aims to disseminate the production, happens this year in a new format, totally virtual, with the Master’s students of the Program presenting in videos the research in progress. This is a way to meet the protocols established by the university’s higher bodies, which advise against academic activities in attendance, as a way to minimize the possibilities of contagion by the new coronavirus.
Aloysio Fagerlande, PROMUS coordinator, informs that the material, which can be consulted here, will be online as a record and reflection of this emergency situation.
The production of the videos took about a month and, according to Fagerlande, was enthusiastically supported by the master students. “Even with the classes suspended, the meetings and orientation did not stop, and for a month we collectively discussed how to adapt the presentations to the new non-presential format,” he says.
“It was a challenging experience for everyone, students and teachers. And adds that “from the pandemic and social isolation, the world of work in Music is going through great transformations, and we try to discuss these issues in the course, which should reflect on the daily professional life of the area and, if possible, present new ways”.
The Jornada also participates in the Festival of Knowledge, an event held by the rectory of UFRJ which, from 14 to 24, promotes a virtual meeting between teaching, research and extension, uniting the university community, public personalities, researchers, artists and civil society leaders. Among the activities, live lectures, workshops, mini-courses, cultural presentations and other activities.
The Journey is coordinated by Professor Marcelo Jardim.
