UFRJ International Cordophone Festival
Its main objective is to refer the production of knowledge and artistic expression as foundations of the Brazilian public university.
Promoted by the Arc and Finger Strings Department in partnership with PROMUS, it gathers, since its first edition, the MOMENTO RIO BANDOLIM and the FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DE VIOLÃO. It is characterized by celebrating the presence and importance of stringed instruments in Brazilian and international music. With a wide and diversified program – master classes, lectures, round tables, concerts, recitals, book and CD releases – it counts with the participation of guests acting in the national and international musical scene, providing the participants and the general public with artistic and scientific updates.
Its main objective is to refer the production of knowledge and artistic expression as foundations of the Brazilian public university, disseminating and qualifying the activities of the bachelor’s degree and professional master’s degree in guitar, 7-string guitar, mandolin, ukulele, harp, violin, viola, cello and double bass and the importance of musical education. Unique in Rio de Janeiro – and of international reach – the Festival offers the opportunity for students of chorus instruments to improve their knowledge, opening dialogues with other languages and performances.
